Display Ad Formats

One display ad, built from the pieces you supply and fitted to each slot.

Housing Market Ads runs targeted display advertising inside real estate marketplaces. An advertiser does not choose banner sizes or upload finished banners: a campaign supplies short titles, descriptions, images and a logo, and each time the ad is shown, they are assembled into an ad that fits the slot on that portal page.

What you supply

Four kinds of content, entered when you build the campaign. The campaign form shows the current limits for each, and it is the authority for them.

  • Titles

Short headlines. Add several and they rotate, so one campaign can try more than one message.

  • Descriptions

A line or two under the headline: the offer, the place, and what to do next.

  • Images

Photographs in a wide or a square shape, so the ad can fill different slots. Accurate, recent photography of the actual property works best.

  • Logos

Your agency, developer or company mark, shown with the ad so the reader knows who is speaking.

How the ad is assembled

Each time the ad is shown, one title, one description, one image and the logo are combined into an ad that fits the slot on that portal page — in a list of search results, on a listing page or elsewhere on the portal. Because the pieces rotate, a campaign with several of each shows several combinations.

Limits such as headline length, image shape, minimum image size and file type are shown in the campaign form at the point you build the campaign, and that is the authority for them. This page deliberately does not restate them, because a specification published here and changed there is worse than no answer at all.

Other formats

Sponsored listings, native ads and video tours are not part of Housing Market Ads. Every campaign runs as the display ad described above.

Creative that works

Accurate, high-quality photography, a short benefit-led headline, a visible location or service area, and one clear call to action. Misleading prices, unavailable inventory, altered property imagery, unsupported yields and guaranteed-approval or guaranteed-return claims are not permitted.

Point each campaign at the most relevant page for the promise it makes — a specific listing, a development page, a quote or consultation form — rather than at a homepage the reader then has to search.
